¡Hello! I am Karina, I am 22 years old and I live in Bogota, a city full of life. I study psychology and I am passionate about understanding the human mind to help others. I am extroverted and enjoy meeting new people, learning from different cultures and sharing good conversations. My friends say that I am the soul of the party, always cheering with my contagious laughter and my positive energy. My smile is wide and sincere, something that, according to my friends, illuminates any place. In addition, my confidence is reflected in my way of being and my natural sensuality. I love dancing, especially salsa, bachata and reggaeton, because it is my way of expressing myself. I also enjoy movies, reading and sharing a good wine in a great chat. Bogota has challenges, but I love its historic center and cozy cafes. On weekends I often explore local markets, as cooking is also my passion. My life is full of color and joy. I enjoy every moment, balancing study, work and fun. Psychology has taught me to value mental well-being, and my goal is to continue growing, learning, and sharing my happiness with the world..
Music has a unique power to connect with my emotions. When a song resonates with me, I feel the artist speaks directly to my soul. It helps me to process joy, sadness, love or nostalgia in a profound way. When I am sad, certain songs act like balm, reflecting my feelings and transforming my pain into something beautiful.. Other times, music intensifies my happiness, becoming the soundtrack of my best memories.. It is also a bridge to the past: certain melodies transport me to special moments, reviving experiences with great clarity.. Also, when words are not enough, I find in music a voice that expresses what I feel.. Sharing songs creates bonds with others, and attending concerts connects me with those who share my passion. Music also motivates me in difficult times, giving me strength to move forward.. Beyond pleasure, music has a positive impact on my well-being, helping me relax and improve my mood. It is my refuge, my inspiration and a way to connect with the deepest of my being..
Traveling is one of my great passions. Each destination is an opportunity to discover, learn and expand my horizons. Exploring new places allows me to immerse myself in different cultures, languages and ways of life, feeding my curiosity. I also value the human connection that arises in each trip. Meeting people from different backgrounds enriches me and gives me new perspectives. In addition, traveling drives my personal growth, challenging me to be more adaptable, resolute and confident.. Sensory stimulation is another aspect I enjoy. The colours of the markets, the aromas of street food and the sounds of a vibrant city create unforgettable experiences. At the same time, traveling is an escape from routine, a way to renew energy and find inspiration.. I love the adventure and adrenaline that comes with discovering the unknown, as well as the peace I find in nature.. Each trip becomes a heap of memories and experiences that I treasure, reaffirming my love for exploring the world.
I like art because it is a universal form of expression that transcends time, culture and words. Through it, I can connect with different perspectives, explore deep emotions and better understand the world around me.. Art inspires me and awakens my creativity. Each work, whether a painting, a song or a film, invites me to see life from new angles, stimulating my imagination and making me feel identified without the need for explanation.. In addition, it is a reflection of society and an engine of change, capable of questioning norms, generating awareness and transmitting powerful messages.. I also value art for its ability to preserve history and culture, allowing me to travel back in time and connect with people from other generations.. Its healing power is another reason I love it; in times of sadness or uncertainty, a work can bring comfort, peace and strength.. Finally, art fosters human connection. Sharing it, discussing it and experiencing it in community strengthens the bonds between people and makes me feel part of something bigger. It’s a reminder of the beauty and emotion that exists in the world.
I like Frida Kahlo not only for her artistic talent, but for her courage and the way she turned her pain into art. Her life was marked by adversity: first, poliomyelitis that affected her mobility, and later, the bus accident that caused multiple fractures and forced her to undergo surgeries.. Instead of giving up, he found in painting a way to express his suffering, emotions and dreams. His self-portraits are a window into his inner world, where he captured his identity, his physical and emotional pain, and his intense personal life.. Works such as The Broken Column show his agony, while The Two Frides reflect his inner conflict and search for identity.. I admire their ability to transform difficult experiences into meaningful art. In addition to her talent, Frida challenged the norms of her time. In a society that limited women to traditional roles, she lived independently, adopting her own style and addressing taboo topics such as sexuality, frustrated motherhood and female suffering.. She was also politically engaged, using her art to express her ideals and support for social justice.. His legacy lives on, not only as an artist, but as a symbol of resilience, authenticity and strength.. Frida Kahlo reminds us that, even in pain, it is possible to find beauty and meaning in life.
Since I decided to study psychology, I knew it was my true vocation. It’s not just a career, but a way to understand the world and help others. Each class and experience reassures me that I chose the right path. My interest began in adolescence, fascinated by how we think, feel and act. Studying this science has allowed me to explore various areas, from clinical psychology to neuropsychology, discovering its impact on people’s lives.. What I am most passionate about is its ability to improve the quality of life. Knowing that I will be able to help others overcome fears and traumas motivates me deeply. I also enjoy research, contributing to the constantly evolving knowledge of the human mind.. Psychology has made me more empathetic and understanding, improving my relationships and my ability to listen. Despite the challenges, I remain committed to my growth and training. I dream of working with patients, collaborating with professionals and continuing to learn. I am in love with psychology and excited about everything that awaits me on this path.
Human connection is one of the most essential experiences we can live. In an increasingly digital and accelerated world, maintaining genuine relationships is more important than ever. Although technology facilitates communication, nothing replaces the value of real contact, the sincere look or the unconditional support of someone close. Since we are born, we need affection to develop. I remember the security I felt in my mother’s hugs and how, as a teenager, conversations with friends helped me understand who I was.. Sharing dreams and fears with someone who really listens creates bonds that mark us forever. In adulthood, connection takes on new nuances. Between responsibilities and work, maintaining deep relationships can be challenging, but vital. Beyond the quantity, what matters is the quality of the links. A single friend who listens to you without judgment can make the difference between feeling alone or accompanied in life.
*Connecting in a Digital World* We live in an era where virtual connections have become ubiquitous. Social media and digital platforms allow us to be in touch with hundreds, if not thousands, of people. But are these connections really meaningful? I’ve spent hours on social media, swiping and liking the posts of friends and acquaintances. However, I have often felt more alone after these moments. It’s easy to confuse the amount of online interactions with a real connection. I have learned that human connection goes beyond a like or a comment; it takes time, effort and vulnerability. Texting and video calls can be useful tools, but nothing replaces being physically present with someone, looking into their eyes, feeling their body language, sharing a comfortable silence.. In a world where we are constantly connected through devices, we must make a conscious effort to nurture our face-to-face relationships. *Vulnerability as the Key to Connection* Something I have discovered is that vulnerability is essential to genuine human connection. We live in a society that often values strength and independence, but being human means accepting that we are not perfect, that we need others.
Living in Colombia at 21 is a vibrant experience, full of contrasts and emotions. If there is one thing that characterizes my country, it is the richness of its diversity: from its landscapes to its people, everything in Colombia is a mixture of colors, flavors, sounds and sensations that leave no one indifferent. As a young woman, finding my place in this environment can be both a challenge and a constant adventure. Every day here is an invitation to explore and discover. Bogota, the capital, is my base, a place full of movement, where life never stops. I love getting lost in its streets full of graffiti that tell stories of resistance, love and hope. The cafes in Chapinero, the neighborhood where I spend a lot of time, are my favorite refuges. I like to sit down with a good coffee, maybe a latte with almond milk, and work on my projects or just watch people pass by.. In these spaces I feel there is a sense of community, a reflection of the creativity and innovation that characterizes my generation. However, life in Bogota also has its challenges. Traffic is a constant that sometimes tests my patience. Sometimes, the stairs become a kind of endless maze that makes me wonder how I got to waste so much time in the city. But it's also in those moments,
caught in a bus or a taxi, where I stop to appreciate the little details
The weather in Bogota is unpredictable: a day can start with fog, have a scorching sun at noon and end with a torrential rain. This has taught me to always be prepared. Although it is uncomfortable at times, it also reminds me how amazing life here is.. Colombian food is another of my great passions. I enjoy from an egg arepa with lulo juice in the morning to a coastal sancocho on Sundays. Tasting exotic fruits in market squares is a unique experience that connects me to my roots. My social life is a mix of rumba, movies and quiet meetings with friends. I love dancing salsa and reggaeton until dawn, but I also enjoy relaxing afternoons in the Simon Bolivar Park. However, being a young woman in Colombia also means being aware of the social challenges. I like to participate in marches and support causes that seek change. At 21, I am in a phase of discovery and growth. Every experience here teaches me something new about myself and the world. Living in Colombia is a journey full of challenges, but also of moments that make me stronger and happier.
At 21, energy is a force that guides my life. It’s not just a feeling, but a tangible experience that influences my mood and the way I perceive the world.. Every place and every person emits a unique vibration, and I love to feel how these energies intertwine and transform.. When I’m with friends, the connection becomes palpable: laughter, conversations and emotions create a vibrant atmosphere. Spaces also have their own energy, whether it’s the comforting calm of my home or the stimulating dynamics of a lively café.. Music is another powerful source of energy in my life. Each melody can lift my spirits, awaken my creativity or plunge me into introspection. I also find energy in my hobbies, like writing or painting, where I feel in a state of total flow.. Even in loneliness, the energy is still present. Reflecting and connecting with myself helps me understand my emotions. And nature, with its immense power, balances and revitalizes me. For me, energy is the thread that connects all my experiences. It is a constant flow that inspires me, drives me and gives meaning to my world..
For me, the beach is a refuge, a sanctuary where I feel at peace and in connection with the world.. From the moment I arrive, the salty breeze caresses my face and the rhythmic sound of the waves wraps me in a deep calm. Walking along the shore is a sensory delight: the warm sand under my feet, the contrast between softness and roughness, everything keeps me present. When I lie in the sun, I feel its warmth wrapping me like a hug, filling me with energy and freedom.. Watching the sea inspires me. Its immensity, the glow of the water and the dance of the waves remind me of the greatness of the world and the beauty of the simple. On the beach, everything aligns: my mind calms, my body relaxes and my spirit feels free.
