She tells you she « isn’t ready for a relationship »… but she sleeps at your place three times a week. She introduces you to her friends, sends you good morning selfies, but still posts « single » on Insta. Welcome to your situationship.

And worse still: maybe you’ve fallen into the trend of the moment, the celicouple. Neither in a relationship, nor truly single… and you’re just going in circles. So today, let’s talk straight: why you fall into this, what it says about you… and how to get out.

Situationship: Definition and Realities

A situationship is that vague relationship where you sleep together, laugh, share intimate moments, without ever making it official.
– No Facebook status.
– No « I love you. »
– No real commitment.
But also, no total freedom. Because deep down, she expects you to act like a reliable, available, reassuring guy… without ever giving you the title that goes with it.

« We don’t need labels, right? »

Translation: she enjoys emotional and sexual comfort without taking an emotional risk. And you stay hanging on her « maybes. »

A Little Secret Between Us

I’ve seen plenty of men stuck in this kind of story.
She shows up at your place, puts on your t-shirt as if it’s already hers, whispers « you’re perfect… » before adding « but I want to stay free. »
And you stay there, torn between the tenderness she gives you… and the frustration she imposes on you.

And I’m going to tell you something you might not want to hear: she knows exactly what she’s doing.

The Celicouple: Even Worse?

If the situationship is already vague, the celicouple is the art of swimming in ambiguity.
👉 You live like a couple: grocery shopping together, Sunday series, spontaneous weekends, cute little habits.
👉 You act like singles: each remains officially « free, » continues swiping on Tinder « just to see » and refuses any exclusivity.

It’s the Netflix & Chill + Ghosting + « I’ll come back when I need affection » combo.
A form of fast-food love: convenient, comforting, without attachment. But over time, it leaves you starving for a real relationship.

Why Is This Trend Exploding?

1. Fear of Commitment

Between divorced parents, traumatic breakups, and social media illusions, commitment scares people. We want love… without the risk.

2. The Multiplicity of Choices

Tinder, Insta, Bumble… the illusion that there’s always « better » out there. Why settle when, with the next swipe, you might find someone hotter, funnier, more muscular?

3. The Search for Effortless Comfort

A cuddle without the hassle of « what are you doing this weekend with me? » Fewer expectations, fewer disappointments.

4. The Cult of Freedom

Because admitting you want to be loved is too vulnerable for the ego. And yet… we’re all dying for it.

And You, Why Do You Accept This?

👉 Because you’re afraid of being alone.
👉 Because you’d rather have « a little » than nothing.
👉 Because you tell yourself « it might evolve. »
👉 Because her body makes you addicted.

Spoiler:

99% of situationships remain situationships.
And you end up frustrated, jealous, or even in love with a woman who doesn’t really want you.

And on top of that…

Most guys in a situationship end up unconsciously devaluing themselves. They become that « convenient » guy kept on the back burner, the one who patiently waits for her to want tenderness.
She goes off to live her passions, her failed Tinder dates, and comes back to you when she wants a back massage and a guaranteed orgasm.
And you feel useful… but never chosen.

The Psychological (and Sexual) Risks

Loss of self-confidence.
You wonder what’s wrong with you that she doesn’t love you « enough. » And you end up believing you’re the problem.

Relational self-sabotage.
You become allergic to commitment. Every date becomes a plan B, never a potential real relationship.

Lackluster sexuality.
Yes, it’s intense. But the absence of deep connection eventually leaves you empty. Even after an orgasm.

Emotional dependence.
The more she runs, the more you want her. Like a junkie waiting for their fix.

How to Get Out of a Situationship or a Celicouple

1 – Brutal Clarity

Ask her the question. « What are we doing, you and me?«
If she dodges or gives you an « I don’t know, I’m scared, » you have your answer.

2 – Self-Respect

Ask yourself: « Do you want to be a comfort fling or a man who is chosen?«

3 – Stop the Fear of Losing

You think you’re losing a woman? You’re gaining your time, your freedom, and your dignity. And you open the door to the one who won’t be afraid to love you fully.

My Opinion as a Woman (and Observer)

I see too many intelligent, ambitious, charismatic men accepting emotional crumbs just for a bit of sex and tenderness.
The situationship and the celicouple are like eating chips instead of a real meal. In the moment, it fills you up. But deep down, you’re still hungry.

And let me tell you something:
👉 Women always respect a man who knows how to say « no » to what doesn’t nourish him.

Even the one who loses you for it will end up thinking, « Damn… at least he was real.«

My Question for You

👉 And you, do you want to be her man… or her pastime?

Final Word

The situationship is convenient, but it destroys you slowly.
The celicouple gives you the illusion of a relationship without any of its deep benefits.
True courage isn’t staying in this fog. It’s saying: « I deserve better than this.«
