Onanism isn\u2019t just for men \u2013 women indulge in it too<\/strong><\/span><\/a>. But if you\u2019re male, you know that masturbation is an everyday act for many of you. Just as you\u2019ve probably been on a porn site at least once to give your wrist a little boost.<\/p>\n

But are you addicted to porn<\/b><\/span><\/a>? Are you one of those who masturbate the most? Perhaps you need some tips on how to get a harder, longer erection<\/strong><\/span><\/a>? We\u2019ll give you the answer (or a start) thanks to this major survey recently published by Ifop, involving over 12,000 French people*.<\/p>\n

You masturbate every day. Are you..<\/b><\/h2>\n

Under 25 years old<\/b><\/h3>\n

You\u2019re young and fit, and masturbation is part of your daily routine. Your hormones are going wild, which is normal at your age. In fact, the younger you are, the more you wiggle your penis in your hand. If we look at the figures, 37% of under-25s indulge in the joys of onanism \u00ab\u00a0every day or almost every day\u00a0\u00bb, compared with 31% of 25-34 year-olds, 27% of 35-49 year-olds and 21% of 50-64 year-olds. Only 10% of over-65s masturbate daily. And if you get to that age and still practice onanism, you\u2019re in luck..<\/p>\n

You earn less than \u20ac1,500 a month<\/b><\/h3>\n

If you earn less than \u20ac1,500 a month, you could be among the 29% who masturbate every day. The proportion drops to 24% between \u20ac1,500 and \u20ac2,000, 21% between \u20ac2,000 and \u20ac3,000, and 18% among those earning over \u20ac3,000. So the more you earn, the less you masturbate. Too busy, perhaps?<\/p>\n

You live in a big city<\/b><\/h3>\n

One in three (27%) of you enjoy this solitary pleasure. But if you live in a working-class suburb, the figure drops to 22%. In rural communities, the figure is as low as 19%, and only 10% in affluent suburbs.<\/p>\n

If you\u2019re single<\/b><\/h3>\n

You may be surprised to learn that only 32% of single men masturbate on a daily basis. This compares with 20% of those in couples (25% of non-cohabiting men, 19% of cohabiting men). In other words, daily masturbation isn\u2019t all that common after all.<\/p>\n

You\u2019re a porn consumer<\/b><\/h3>\n

If you\u2019re into pornography, you\u2019re also into masturbation. Yes, the two often go hand in hand. If you watch porn every day, you\u2019re part of the 80% who masturbate every day. But if you only watch it a few times a week, you\u2019re down to 27%, and 9% if you watch it monthly. If you watch adult films even less often, 12% of you masturbate \u00ab\u00a0every day or almost every day\u00a0\u00bb.<\/p>\n

You live in a big city<\/b><\/h3>\n

There\u2019s a link between masturbation and porn consumption (no surprise there). If you live in a big city, 14% of you watch adult films every day, compared with just 11% if you live in a working-class suburb. The figure drops further to 8% for rural towns and affluent suburbs. Are we less visually demanding outside the big cities?<\/p>\n

You are under 25<\/b><\/h3>\n

Unsurprisingly once again, the younger you are, the more you like pornography (and masturbation, as we said earlier). In fact, 33% of you watch porn on a daily basis. This compares with 15% of 25-34 year-olds, 13% of 35-49 year-olds, 11% of 50-64 year-olds and 4% of those aged 65 and over. The study also reveals that 40% of under-25s feel they have become addicted to porn (compared with 33% of 25-34 year-olds, 28% of 35-49 year-olds, 25% of 50-64 year-olds and 21% of 65+ year-olds).<\/p>\n
