A career in television
Claire Chazal rose through the ranks of the audiovisual world, from presenting programs to managing TF1’s JT news program and its editorial staff. She also developed a passion for literature, writing a biography of politician Edouard Balladur and two other novels.
For almost 25 years, the journalist reigned unchallenged over TF1’s weekend news programs. But after so many years presenting the news on La Une, ratings have eroded. On Monday, September 7, 2015, the final blow fell: Claire Chazal lost her throne. Anne-Claire Coudray has become Claire Chazal’s replacement on TF1’s weekend newscast. Before officially taking up her post, the journalist received some invaluable advice from the specialist.
Before taking the helm of TF1’s weekend newscasts, Anne-Claire Coudray had already had a chance to chat with Claire Chazal when she was a reporter for her paper. “When I became her replacement, she obviously gave me some advice, “ she assures us. “Not a lot, but very valuable advice,” recalled Anne-Claire Coudray. “She told me to ‘stay yourself’, which is the only advice you can give to a presenter“, said the TF1 presenter, before continuing: “It’s really very important to last, I think, because sincerity, or not, shows on screen. I have this lovely memory of her and this lovely piece of advice“.
Lovers and men
As for her life as a mother, the famous TV presenter gave birth to a baby boy on April 29, 1995. The child was the fruit of her relationship with journalist Patrick Poivre d’Arvor, who did not admit paternity until ten years later. In the meantime, the journalist shared her life with Xavier Couture, Philippe Torreton and perhaps other lesser-known partners. Her relationship with model Arnaud Lemaire, 19 years her junior, was the main reason she became known as Cougar or Milf. Given Claire Chazal’s age, she could also be in the mature x category. Together for three years now, the two lovers describe their relationship as true love.
Like her counterpart Laurence Boccolini, she likes to cuddle up in younger, more vigorous arms. It’s easy to see why!
