Angelina Jolie Voight is the daughter of Marcheline Bertrand and actor Jon Voight. 1 year after her birth in Los Angeles, her parents separated. From the age of 11, Angelina wanted to become an actress and decided to take her first acting classes. But during this period, she was a difficult teenager, self-mutilating and sporting a look that earned her mockery from her classmates. All this led her to drop out of acting classes. Turning to humanitarian action
But on the set of Tomb Raider in Cambodia, the actress turned her attention to humanitarian causes. In 2001, she became an ambassador for the UNHCR (United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees) and carried out over 40 missions in the field. In particular, she made several trips to conflict zones (Iraq, the Darfur province of Sudan and Libya).
A wide-ranging actress
Angelina Jolie’s greatest commercial successes were the comedy Mr. and Mrs. Smith (2005) and the animated film Kung Fu Panda (2008), for which she lent her voice. But she also played dramatic characters, for which she won a Golden Globe for Best Actress in a Dramatic Role in Michael Winterbottomen’s Unconquered Heart (2008). Angelina Jolie’s personal life is full of love stories. She married actor Jonny Lee Miller on March 28, 1996, whom she had met on the set of the film “Hackers”. But they divorced in February 1999. Angelina Jolie then met actor Billy Bob Thornton on the set of the film The Needlers (1999), and married him on May 5, 2000. The marriage ended in divorce three years later. In 2004, Angelina Jolie met Brad Pitt on the set of Mr & Mrs Smith. It was love at first sight, and the actor even divorced Jennifer Aniston for her. He adopted little Maddox (born in August 2001) and Zahara (born in January 2005), children whom the actress had adopted herself.
The couple, nicknamed “brangelina” by the press, went on to create a large family with the birth of their daughter, Shiloh Nouvel, on May 27, 2006, in Namibia, and the adoption of a boy from Vietnam, Pax Thien (born November 2003), in March 2007.
