If you’re a fan of social networking, you’ll probably have noticed the latest health and wellness trend to invade your screens (fortunately not from the front): exposing your anus to the sun. Apparently, it does a world of good!
But where do certain trends come from? It makes you wonder. After all, as long as it’s natural, we can talk about well-being and health. At least, for this trend. Exposing your anus to the sun to get a tan is not the only reason. But what are the other benefits?
Perineum sunning, the new anal trend
Yes, there’s something for everyone, and it’s clear that wellness aficionados are looking for every little nook and cranny of their bodies to optimize. So perineum sunning is finding many fans on social networks. It is said to have a number of benefits, rightly or wrongly, including a natural vitamin D supplement. Either way, it can’t hurt.
“30 seconds of sun on your anus is the equivalent of a day in the sun with your clothes on,” says Metaphysical Meagan, the American influencer behind this new trend.
And on her Instagram account, she shows off her new practice with a photo that has been doing the rounds. We see her naked, legs apart, anus exposed to the sun, with the above advert in the description.
And to further convince us, our anal influencer cites all the benefits it would bring her:
- regain energy immediately
- better sleep
- a better connection to her sexual energy
- greater control over her life
- develop your creativity
- rediscover your desires and motivations
- attracting like-minded people
But where did she get these ideas? The reason is simple: she is said to have studied Taoism, a branch of Chinese philosophy based on Buddhism and Confucianism. This teaching is said to reveal the origin and meaning of the world’s potential. So maybe it’s all down to his spiritual work, but we like his interpretation.
Anus in the sun, a trend taken up by many influencers
In any case, it’s clear that Metaphysical Meagan is inspiring others, since this trend is being picked up by many other influencers, who are also showing off their best anus-in-the-sun photos. Her publication has been liked more than 84,000 times and is setting the trend, even among the stars.
Among them is Shailene Woodley, actress in the “Big Little Lies” series. Another thing I like to do is give my vagina some vitamin D,” she says in an interview with Into The Gloss. Why not?
Specialist advice: sounding the alarm
While the practice of perineum sunning may be a laughing matter, according to experts, it’s not without its risks. Firstly, the benefits are not based on scientific data, but on the influencer’s “testimony”. According to Dr. Diana Gall, quoted by the Insider website, “there is no evidence that sunbathing in this way has any effect on physical well-being”. Thus, she explains that while vitamin D, meditation and mindfulness are all beneficial for mental and physical health, “you don’t need to damage your skin in the process of sun exposure”. What’s more, UV rays are still dangerous for the skin, and exposing the anus directly to the sun can damage it (yes, sensitive area!).
So it’s better to take a long walk in the sun than to expose your anus to the sun. Reinforcing this argument is the French National Cancer Institute, which reminds us of preventive advice to limit the risk of skin cancer. So get out and cover up if you want to expose yourself to the sun, as UV rays can damage your skin and cause melanoma in particular. Don’t forget your sun cream. And don’t forget that 10 minutes in the sun is enough to get your daily dose of vitamin D!
So if you really want to expose your anus to the sun, it’s up to you – at least they don’t have any problems with their underwear…
